Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+, is right around the corner with the official launch on November 12, 2019. Here is everything that you need to know about the new on-demand streaming service from the film giant.
Disney+ is Disney’s step into the world of subscription on-demand video to compete with other services like Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV+, and Prime Video. The service is expected to feature original Disney films and television series. Some of the content will come from Disney, Pixar, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Fox, Marvel, and National Geographic.
The streaming service is expected to feature over 7,000 television episodes and over 500 films. According to Bob Iger, Disney+ will eventually house every single Disney movie and show ever produced.
Alongside the “older” content that Disney is placing on the service, there will also be new shows and movies featured exclusively to Disney+. Disney is currently working on original scripted movies and shows based on the Marvel and Star Wars series.
Disney+ will be available on the web and PC, as well as iOS devices, Android devices, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, Roku, Playstation 4, as well as Xbox One. Content will also be listed inside of the Apple TV app. Content will not be available on FireTV devices.
