After the recent announcements that both Tenet and Mulan have had their release dates pushed back to August, Unhinged – the latest film starring Russell Crowe – is also suffering another postponement. The film was set to be released on July 10th, but now is expected to arrive at cinemas on July 31st.
This will be disheartening to have to delay the film yet again for Solstice Studios, the production company behind Unhinged. This was set to be the first project released by the relatively new independent studio. Solstice were set up just two years ago in 2018 by Mark Gill, and have a few more films in preparation such as Hypnotic and Manhunt, although there are no release dates attached to any of these movies as of yet. The entertainment company were clearly quite keen to be front of the queue for when audiences returned to cinemas, as they initially set the release date for July 1st amid the pandemic. However with a date of July 31st hopefully now set in stone, the film will still be within the first few releases and most likely viewers will be keen to be able to watch the film as soon as possible.
Directed by Derrick Borke, Unhinged follows a single mother who begins to be stalked by a mentally unstable stranger, after a road rage incident with the individual at a red traffic light. As well as Crowe, the film stars Caren Pistorius, Gabriel Batemen, Jimmi Simpson and Austin P. McKenzie.
