So far, 24 James Bond films have been released, with the next one coming this April: No Time To Die. In each one, we see lots of awesome cars with different styles and with aces up to the sleeve. It also is the longest continuous movie series in movie history. In this article, I’m going to rank them according to my personal choice:
10. Toyota 2000 GT
This beautiful car was used in the 1917 movie You Only Live Twice, a film that was set in Japan.
This Toyota was very particular, not just because it was Toyota’s first revolutionary design but also because it had two one-off topless models made especially for the film, fitted only with tonneau covers to simulate functioning convertible roofs.
9. Jaguar C-X75
As well as the Aston Martin DB10, this Jaguar was seen in Spectre. With no doubt is a spectacular car, but it didn’t have gadgets or something that is fundamental for a spy like Bond, so it was a little disappointing for me.
8. BMW 750iL
This looks like a conventional car that is simple and classic, but when you see Tomorrow Never Dies where the car appears, you realize that it is not normal. It actually brings with it lots of features like being operable by remote control via an Ericsson cell phone, stinger missiles hidden in the sunroof, re-inflating tires, bulletproof body armor and glass, front and rear video cameras, voice capability and so much more. For all of those things it is one of my favorite James Bond cars.
7. Aston Martin V12 Vanquish
This car was used in the 20th 007 film Die Another Day and is simply beautiful, from an aesthetic perspective to a performance perspective. It is a car full of many gadgets, including automatic guns that popup from the bonnet cooling vents, rockets behind the grille, spikes on the tires and a passenger ejector seat. Although the BMW 750iL has better and more unique gadgets, I like the Aston Martin Vanquish more because of the mix between aesthetics and gadgets.
6. Ford Mustang Mach 1
With no doubt, this car used in the movie Diamonds Are Forever is fantastic.
I really like this Mustang because it gives James Bond another style, and it is different from what we have seen. Even the color is something different from the classic colors we usually see him in.
5. Aston Martin DB10
As well as the Toyota car, the Aston Martin DB10 was specially designed for the film Spectre. It is an amazing modern car with a beautiful design, that is also bulletproof and has things like flamethrowers and machine guns. For me, it is the perfect match for James Bond because it gives him his classy look.
4. BMW Z8
With this car, we can see a beautiful mix between classic and modern touches including titanium plating and armor, ground to air missiles behind the side air intakes, a key chain that can control the car remotely, an infra-red tracking system, and more. This BMW made its appearance in the movie The World is not Enough.
3. Aston Martin DBS
As well as the other cars, this Aston martin is an amazing sports car that was seen in Casino Royale. The bad thing about the car is that it only features a spare gun and a defibrillator, and compared to other James Bond cars it’s not too much gadget wise.
2. Lotus Esprit S1
To me, this is one of the most interesting and fabulous Bond cars. It appeared in The Spy Who Loved Me and has one of the most impressive features…it is a submarine!! Just that feature blew my mind and made me put it near the top spot. Including that really nice design made it a perfect car for James Bond.
1. Aston Martin DB5
This car famous because of its array of gadgets made its first appearance in Goldfinger, although it has appeared in many more Bond films since. The gadgets and style made it my favorite one, it is the car people associate with Bond.
Overall we have seen that most of the best cars for me where Aston Martin, which will also supply James Bond’s new car in No Time To Die.
