Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker now the Lowest Rated Film in the Saga

1 min read

Only after a month of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker being out in theaters the movie is now the lowest rated movie in the saga. The movie is at a rating of 52% on Rotten Tomatoes compared to it’s predecessor Star Wars: The Last Jedi which is rated 91% on Rotten Tomatoes and the first movie of the saga, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and it’s rated at a 93%.

The movie may be doing well at the box office so far earning an impressive $1.028 billion at the box office thus far. Although Disney probably hoped that it would make more as it’s the final movie in the saga. Currently the movie has been slipping in numbers that it even got pulled from 1,200 different theaters with it now playing in only 3,053 theaters across the country. This is not a good thing since it’s only the fifth week of the movie being released.

This was one of the most anticipated movies of 2019 that it even beat out pre-ticket sales for Avengers: Endgame but unfortunately fans and critics didn’t enjoy the final film in the saga. Although the movie is the lowest rated movie in the saga it isn’t stopping Disney from developing another trilogy for the franchise.
