May the 4th is upon us and we have the perfect excuse with the international release of Disney+ and some quality time at home to have the perfect Star Wars marathon.
All the more appropriately, on Disney+ come Monday, we have recently found out that each film and series under the Star Wars franchise will get updated May the 4th original concept artwork. Previews of which can be found on this article. This seems to be the cherry on top with the arrival of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the series finale of The Clone Wars
Like I implied, this is relevant to all films and shows under the franchise; from Star Wars: A New Hope to the newly original The Mandalorian will be decorated with original concept art by Ralph McQuarrie and Academy award winning artist, Doug Chiang. Notably too, it isn’t only the films and shows that will get a nostalgic rebrand for the time being, but also the Disney+ home screen will also feature new animation to honour the celebrated day of the franchise many adore and love so much.
For the time being, here’s samples of the concept art that we should expect on Monday.
