Former Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr avoids rumors of a possible cameo for Marvel’s first solo film for ‘Black Widow‘, releasing in May of this year. Downey then retired as Iron Man after an impressive 11 year run which his final appearance was in Avengers: Endgame. Since Black Widow is set after the events of Captain America: Civil War but before Avengers: Infinity War many think that he can cameo as Iron Man for the film. How would he? Marvel may have unused footage for Civil War that they could use and don’t forget that they have the might CGI although we’ll prefer the first choice.

While promoting his new movie ‘Dolittle‘ Downey stated “Right. Great. I mean, it would be nice if they notified me. Forewarned is forearmed,”. Dolittle is officially his first movie after playing Iron Man.

Then back in September a report from deadline reported that Iron Man “would return one more time” in the upcoming Black Widow movie which takes place before both Tony and Natasha fatal death in Avengers: Endgame. Recently Robert has stated in an interview “The war for me is over,” “I personally have alighted to greener pastures.”. He also stated “it’s better to fire yourself before you get fired.”

Black Widow is set to release May 1, 2020. The official cast so far is lead actress Scarlett Johanson, along side with Rachel Weisz, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Ray Winstone, and O.T. Fagbenle.
