The third installment in Marvel’s Deadpool franchise is already in development, and fans are really excited to know that in spite of Disney’s acquisition the film will still be R-rated. Despite the little information available on its production, Morena Baccarin – who plays Vanessa Carlysle both in the first and second entry – says that she hasn’t been reached out by the team to join them once more for this highly anticipated movie.
“I have no idea. Apparently, they’re still writing it. I genuinely don’t know. I have not been asked, or approached. There’s been no conversations yet, so I’m waiting with bated breath.”Says Baccarin in an interview with PeopleTV.
She also shared that she would like to return to the franchise with a much more active role, regarding her – spoiler alert! – early death in Deadpool 2, before being brought back to life. This approach to her character would be another step towards greater female representation in superhero movies, and cinema in general. Furthermore, Baccarin’s character still has lots of storylines to develop from the comic books that have not been addressed in the cinematic universe.
