The Batman began filming around late January of this year and we finally have our first official look at Robert Pattinson in the Batsuit. Director Matt Reeves just now tweeted out a camera test of Pattinson wearing the suit. The video is shot by Cinematographer Greg Fraser (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Zero Dark Thirty) and the music featured in the clip is done by composer Michael Giacchino (Spider-Man: Far From Home, War for the Planet of the Apes).
Director Todd Phillips also released a camera test for Joker back when that was in early days of filming, and then the next day set photos of Joaquin Phoenix as the character popped up online. It’s safe to assume that The Batman will also begin shooting on location soon, and hopefully, we will get some good set photos. It will also be interesting to see if we get camera tests for other upcoming projects like Black Adam, or if they will wait for trailers like Shazam! did.
So far this looks pretty fantastic. It looks like it’s right from the comics, from the lighting to Pattinson’s acting. Judging by this camera test it seems this will be a highly stylized film, which fits right with the Batman character. The suit also seems very similar to the Arkham games, and that is certainly a compliment. The Batman is definitely off to a great start. Hopefully, we get official looks at the rest of the cast soon!
