Actor Evan Peters (American Horror Story, X-Men: Days of Future Past) has signed on for a mystery role in WandaVision, the upcoming streaming series from Marvel Studios and Disney Plus (via Murphy’sMultiverse).
Peters landed the role in late 2019 and filmed his scenes soon after that. His role is being kept under wraps by Disney, to drive excitement and confusion among fans since the actor has played Wanda’s brother Quicksilver in Fox’s X-Men franchise.
However, given the actor’s experience playing multiple villains in American Horror Story, it could be possible he is playing the series “big bad”, with Mephisto and Nicholas Scratch as possibilities, due to the nature of the show.
The upcoming series will also feature Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the actor who portrayed Quicksilver in the MCU, but (SPOILER ALERT) was killed off in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Thus, if Taylor-Johnson’s version is out of the picture, but the Quicksilver character is not, this could mean Marvel Studios may be looking to recast Peters in the role.
Time will tell if fans will welcome him into the MCU, though audiences were very pleased with his version of the character in Fox’s X-Men franchise.
