This fall, the very first Star Wars live action TV show will be released, called The Mandalorian. Here is all you need to know before the show is released!
What is The Mandalorian about?
The Mandalorian tells the story of a Mandalorian bounty hunter (which is the same type of bounty hunter as Boba and Jango Fett) that is trying to survive between the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The bounty hunter is an outlaw who will meet several characters along the way.
Who stars in The Mandalorian?
The role of the Mandalorian himself will be played by Pedro Pascal. Gina Carano will play Cara Dune, a former rebel soldier. Carl Weathers plays Greef Carga, a leader of a bounty hunter guild. Gincarlo Esposito, Nick Nolte, Carl Weathers, and Werner Herzog will also star.
Who created The Mandalorian?
The Mandalorian is created by John Favreau (famous for directing multiple films such as The Lion King and Iron Man). He has written all of the episodes and serves as a producer.
Who directs The Mandalorian?
Multiple directors will helm episodes. Directors confirmed so far are Dave Filoni (who also created Star Wars: Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels), Bryce Dallas Howard (her first big directorial gig), Rick Famuyiwa (director of Dope), and Deborah Chow who directed multiple TV series such as Mr. Robot. Furthermore, Taika Waititi (director of Thor: Ragnarok) will also direct an episode and portray a character called IG-11, who is a droid similar to IG-88 who first showed up in The Empire Strikes Back.

The Mandalorian will be exclusively available on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney Plus.
